Coralie’s Sangria

I admit it’s a bit presumptuous of me to be calling this sangria after myself but I have finally perfected this concoction after innumerable trials. It all started back in Fall 2008 for a “Spanish-themed” potluck dinner.

Enjoy the photos! 🙂

Start out by emptying the wine into a large bowl. Add the cubed apples and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Add the simple syrup which would have been the first thing to prepare to allow for cooling time.

Sprinkle some cinnamon.

Mix in a couple cans of Coke. (Hint: you can use pretty much any carbonated beverage.)

And finally, keep chilled until ready to serve!

Coralie’s Sangria

  • 2 bottles of red wine (merlot/cabernet sauvignon)
  • 2 cans of Coke
  • 3 apples, cubed
  • Juice of 5 oranges
  • 1/2 cup sugar, turned into simple syrup (find recipe here)
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Rum (if you’re feeling dangerous)

*Mix all ingredients and serve chilled
