I was recently in dear San Diego for a very, very brief weekend.
We’ve had a cold snap here in North Carolina this weekend and fall is surely upon us. So let’s do a brief end-of-summer pictorial goodbye…
A few months back Coralie and I were sitting at a bar of Piatti in La Jolla, enjoying a glass of wine and chatting with the bartender. It was a great place to relax, catch up, and watch the hustle and bustle of the dinner rush as we waited for our table. A waiter came up with an empty tray and the bartender began filling it — but suddenly I realized they weren’t serving wine, they were serving heaven. 😀
Three of my absolute most favorite things:
- Good friends
- Seeing new sights
- Delicious food
Add them all together and you have me in bliss 🙂
Recently one of my favorite people treated us to a home cooked “man meal.”
You may have noticed that there have been a lull in my posting… I’ve been a bit busy:
Namorado, which means boyfriend in Portuguese, also refers to the type of fish used in this “moqueca” which is a specialty of Northeastern Brazil (state of Bahia and surrounding regions).
While in Rio, I decided to show Lin Santa Teresa, an artist neighborhood in the style of Montmartre nestled on the top of a hill with breathtaking views of the city. After a grueling couple of hours in buses and metro trying to get there, we landed on a quaint restaurant playing live jazz in the middle of the afternoon. We had to make a stop and see what this place was all about.
